One Can Help provides the specific resources our neediest children and parents involved in the juvenile court system need to make positive changes when no other funds are available.
Our referral network of seasoned court-appointed professionals enables One Can Help to identify at-risk children and families in crisis and quickly provide effective, targeted interventions that help reverse chronic recidivism and deprivation. Not just a charity, we are active partners. Our assistance helps children and families living in poverty, so they can overcome obstacles to self-reliance, become responsible parents, access health care, and go forward with education and employment. As recipients make positive strides, their families and communities benefit, too.
We not only empower these individuals to improve their lives, we also enable the legal system and supporting social welfare agencies to work more efficiently and to use tax dollars more effectively. Simply put, when clients can keep court-ordered appointments because they can afford a sitter, secure transportation or even get a good night’s sleep on a real bed, everyone, from judges to social workers, can do their jobs better.
- Careful screening ensures the need is real, urgent and that no other resources are available;
- An efficient process of distributing assistance to those in crisis via trusted court professionals;
- Accountability to determine that funds were spent as intended and to assess outcomes;
- A lean, efficient operation that maximizes dollars directed to children and families in need, minimizes administrative overhead and provides quick, effective responses.
One Can Help currently is making efforts towards serving all of Massachusetts.
